My Approach:
Have you been worried about your child, but you feel something is different and you cannot pinpoint what it is? Children may not always have the words to express what is going on in their world. Dr. Landreth, a prominent expert in Play Therapy, stated “toys are children’s words and play is their language.” My goals are to provide a safe space for your child to explore and process past and/or current stressors, identify their strengths, and acquire the skills needed to navigate through challenges.
I value the importance of therapeutic relationship and collaborative partnership with caregivers. I employ a client-centered approach to determine what therapeutic modalities are best appropriate for each child. I use a variety of approaches including play modalities, art interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy skills and techniques. My door is always open, and I will be honored to embark on your child’s healing journey with you.
