Linda Herring, M.S., LPC
My Approach:
I take pleasure in helping others and love seeing people grow through their journey in counseling. I cannot wait to help in your journey and walk hand and hand in a nonjudgmental, calming, and therapeutic environment! I use individual, couples, and family therapy to observe family dynamics and promote positive changes in the family’s relationships. Additionally, I use behavior modification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and client centered therapy approaches. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental, supportive environment to help facilitate positive change and promote family and individual success. I ultimately believe entering therapy can be a very empowering time in your life.
Credentials:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in a variety of therapeutic venues including hospital-based outpatient centers, inpatient hospitals, partial hospitalization, and in-home settings. Prior to moving to Georgia, I worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital Community Psychiatry Department in Baltimore, MD. During my time at Johns Hopkins, I focused heavily on children and adolescents as well as their parents. I served as one of the founding team members that developed the hospital’s first Therapeutic Preschool Program, which specialized in working with preschool aged children (ages 0-5) with emotional and developmental disabilities.
